Build a foundation for lasting recovery

Day treatment programs are developed to provide treatment for people struggling with addiction. These programs typically involve therapy, counseling, and support groups. Day treatment programs can be an effective option for people unable to commit to a residential treatment program. Our program is designed to help people develop the skills to manage their addiction and live a sober, productive life. These programs effectively treat substance use disorders, among many other mental illnesses.

A day treatment program gives patients the structure and support they need to overcome addiction. If you or someone you love is struggling with addiction, we encourage you to call On Call Treatment at 866.276.1920 to learn more about our addiction treatment programs.

Day Treatment Programs for Addiction

Usually, addiction treatment facilities offer day treatment programs as part of a spectrum of treatment types. Patients in a day treatment program are medically monitored during their time in treatment and participate in various evidence-based therapies. Patients participating in a day treatment program can expect to spend about six hours a day, five days a week in treatment. After completing a day treatment program, patients typically move to a less intensive level of care, such as an outpatient program. Often, people with addiction also suffer from other mental illnesses that why our facility offers assistance for co-occurring mental health disorders.

Understanding the Difference Between Addiction Treatment Programs

When finding the right addiction treatment program for you, it’s essential to understand the different available levels of care. The three main types of addiction treatment programs are inpatient, day, and outpatient.

Inpatient Treatment

Inpatient treatment provides around-the-clock care in a hospital setting. This level of care is typically for people with severe addiction who also have other health complications. Inpatient treatment usually lasts 28 to 30 days. Most of a person’s day is spent in treatment sessions to provide the most comprehensive care.

Day Treatment

Day treatment offers patients most of the same amenities as inpatient treatment but allows patients to return home at night. This level of care typically lasts two to four weeks and is for patients with moderate addiction. The type of services that you can expect in a day treatment includes individual therapy, group therapy, and medical care. Patients in day treatment will spend about six hours a day, five days a week, in treatment sessions.

Outpatient Treatment

Outpatient programs provide treatment during the day but allow patients to return home at night. This level of care is for people with less-severe addiction. Outpatient treatment usually lasts eight to 12 weeks. The type of services that you can expect in outpatient treatment includes individual therapy, group therapy, and medical care. Patients in outpatient treatment will spend about three hours a day in treatment sessions three days a week. Sometimes outpatient can be more involved, like an intensive outpatient program providing more hours of care than a standard outpatient program.

After completing an addiction treatment program, it’s important to continue attending support groups, therapy sessions, and aftercare to maintain sobriety. On Call Treatment can help you find the right addiction treatment program that meets your needs.
